The better way Empty The better way

You may have not guessed it right away what this topic is about. It is indeed service.  As we lose ourselves in the service of others, we find greater happiness and a sense of accomplishment. Opportunities to serve are seldom convenient, but they do indeed grow us into better people and leaders. Much is given to Leaders (i.e. roles, special units), which means much is required of Leaders. We need to be wise and grateful for what we have been entrusted to have. Instead of longing for the next promotion, our desire should be to improve whatever is placed before us for others benefits. It works best if we view our work ethic as a competition of service rather than a competition of rank.

We need to look for opportunities to serve. We need to look for those simple acts of service.  Leaders can put themselves and their own needs second and help others beyond the call of duty, tirelessly, lovingly, and effectively as they serve. So many of the problems in the world today spring from selfishness and self-centeredness in which too many make harsh demands of life and others in order to meet their demands. Don’t fall for this trap as a Leader. You will only bring down yourself and sadly others will follow.

It is by serving that we learn how to serve. When we are engaged in the service of our co-workers, not only do our deeds assist them, but we put our own problems in a fresher perspective. When we concern ourselves more with others, there is less time to be concerned with ourselves! We become better leaders as we serve.
